you’re only as old as the company you keep
you only feel tall because it’s such a low ceiling
bottom feeder getting too big for its pond
if your nose were any higher you’d be smelling god
you did something once
but those days are through
now you just twiddle your thumbs
contemplating your next big move
you’ve got the head of a politician
and a sloth’s ambition
it’s just the no one understands
glutton for sentiment
they’ll be sorry when you’re dead
you’re the poet laureate of neverland
you tried growing up but it just wasn’t for you
practically drowning in the fountain of youth
you have everything that you could ever want
you don’t have to reminisce when you never move on
you did something once
but it took all your energy
now you just twiddle your thumbs
and nurture one-sided rivalries
you’ve got the head of a politician
and a sloth’s ambition
it’s just that no one understands
glutton for sentiment
they’ll be sorry when you’re dead
one day they’ll build a monument
to the poet laureate of neverland

Maya's early work is vulnerable and beautiful. I initially learned of it through the game "Tacoma" like a fair few others, and hearing the few tracks there led me to greater explore her work and world. After seeing how far she has come, I'm glad I did, and even happier that I was able to meet her years later. warflak

Saw these guys live and they played a few of these songs. Cashed Out was by far my favorite, it's full of energy and goes really hard live. The second i saw a big jar of earplugs got passed around before they started their set, I knew it was gonna be a good one. I wasn't dissapointed. Eli
