you realize that you might lose your mother
none of your fake problems prepared you for this
you realize you can’t do anything without her
what’s it called when you’re an adult who still feels like a kid?
in the waiting room you’re biting on your fingers
trying to make a mental list of everything you regret
and your inkwell’s filled with spit and rancor
so busy looking at yourself that you never learned how to swim
you realize that you might lose your mother
none of your fake problems prepared you for this

Maya's early work is vulnerable and beautiful. I initially learned of it through the game "Tacoma" like a fair few others, and hearing the few tracks there led me to greater explore her work and world. After seeing how far she has come, I'm glad I did, and even happier that I was able to meet her years later. warflak

Saw these guys live and they played a few of these songs. Cashed Out was by far my favorite, it's full of energy and goes really hard live. The second i saw a big jar of earplugs got passed around before they started their set, I knew it was gonna be a good one. I wasn't dissapointed. Eli
